Whole Care

Complete maternity care, tailored to you in your own home! Can be with or without birth care.

All appointments will be at a time convenient to you, and usually last between 1-2hours! Partners, children, pets - the whole family - included as much as you like.

Appointments are routinely once a month, then fortnightly from around 32 weeks. This is flexible to your needs and requirements as your pregnancy progresses.

Postnatal care continues 6-8 weeks after the birth of your baby, and is, as always, flexible to your needs.

I am available to you directly on the phone throughout your pregnancy, and will be on call for your birth from 37 weeks if you wish.

Single Consultation

If you would like to arrange a single appointment to discuss a particular topic or alternative pathways that aren't being supported by your current maternity care provider, then please get in touch!

I can also support you at a hospital appointment if you would like an advocate with you.

The fee for this appointment will be deducted from your Whole Care if you chose to hire me as your midwife afterwards.

Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding can present all sorts of challenges, but with the right guidance, support and encouragement, you can do it!

I can guide you on the different ways to position your baby, and find which are best for you. We will also have detailed discussions about how your baby attaches to your breast and ways you can help and soothe them in times of difficulty.

There is always an emphasis on bonding, your choices and your wellbeing.

Breastfeeding support can be offered over the phone or at your home (this is preferable) - emotional support is always included!

Birth Preparation

Giving birth can be an empowering and life-affirming event when you understand your body and how to encourage its natural processes. Our society and culture instills a fear of birth in us from a very early age, but this is damaging and counter-intuitive for birth to progress as nature intended.

I offer a variety of educational topics including active birthing positions, oxytocin education, breathing techniques, rebozo techniques (woven cloth shawl) and more.

Parent Education

Your new baby will feel oh so precious! I aim to help you prepare for these anxious early days by:

- teaching the basic newborn cares and safety advice for your baba

- discussing feeding choices and ways to best prepare yourselves before your little one arrives

- the importance of skin-to-skin contact and responsive parenting and more!

Overnight Care

The first days and weeks after birth can feel overwhelming and sometimes lonely.

I offer live-in support for you at home to help you with feeding your baba in the night, when it is often most challenging.

I will be there for encouragement and support, and can also help you with meals and housework so you can get some much deserved sleep.

Birth Awareness 3-Step Rewind Process

Sadly, many women experience birth trauma, and birth partners can too. This can make subsequent pregnancies extremely stressful and full of complicated emotions.

The Rewind Process helps to give your brain the opportunity to reprocess the memory so that the negative emotions relating to it are no longer attached. The process is done in three steps and is similar to relaxation/meditation scripts, but with some guided instructions about the memory.

The Rewind technique can be helpful to you when fear, trauma or phobias are:

- making it difficult to enjoy your pregnancy

- making you anxious/fearful of giving birth, you may even be considering an elective caesarean

- preventing you from getting pregnant all together.

I understand that these memories can be distressing, but there is no need for you to retell the events of your traumatic memory if you don't wish to, as this technique can be done content-free.

Please call me to discuss this further if you are interested for yourself, or for someone you know (can be for fear unrelated to birth as well).

Knit & Knatter

Knitting can be a fun and productive pastime while you excitedly await the birth of your baby, but can be a daunting skill to learn in the beginning.

I love to knit and to teach, so I have combined my passions by offering sessions where you can learn to make your baby's first hat and/or blanket!

This informal and creative space can be a time to discuss all sorts of pregnancy, birth or parenting thoughts or concerns.

Possibility of running as a small group of friends or for a baby shower.

Closing Ceremony

During pregnancy and birth, women open their mind, body and soul for another.

Traditionally known as 'Closing the Bones', this nurturing, healing ritual is to honour the new mama and to bring her back to herself.

The ritual involves massage of the hips, abdomen and upper body (optional), as well as rebozo (woven cloth) massage and rocking for the whole body (optional) and body wrapping. The desire to be held and wrapped is universal for humans and is deeply healing and nourishing for the mind, body and soul.

Ancient healing ceremonies like this are known to have been performed by women, for women across many different cultures for centuries. The particular technique I have trained in has its roots in Ecuadorian culture, to which I owe my eternal gratitude.

Although traditionally performed after birth, it can have wonderful effects for women experiencing many other life transitions (ie. miscarriage, loss, menopause, hysterectomy etc.).

Closing the bones can also have wonderful benefits for men and children too.

Whole Care

For care in pregnancy, during labour and for 6-8 weeks after the birth of your baby, in the comfort of your own home, as described in the offerings page.

Most of the following options on this page are included (optionally) in this care at no extra cost, excluding overnight care.

Antenatal and Postnatal Care

For care in pregnancy and after the birth of your baby, in the comfort of your own home.

3-Step Rewind Process

Trauma/fear/phobia reframing technique in the comfort of your own home.

NOTE: I am not a qualified counsellor, and this is not classified as a therapy. I am certified to guide you through the steps of The Rewind Process (with Birth Awareness), which uses principles of neuro-linguistic programming to allow your brain to reprocess negative emotions.

Knit & Knatter

Discuss pregnancy/parenthood related topics or concerns while you learn to knit something for your baby.

Available for complete beginners or anyone who would like to knit together! Group sessions available too for baby showers etc.

Call me to discuss what you would like to learn to knit, your current level etc.

Prices will vary depending on item of clothing to knit (hat, blanket etc.), desired length of session, group size and if materials are required.

Closing Ceremony

Traditionally known as 'Closing the Bones', the ritual involves massage of the hips, abdomen and upper body (optional), as well as rebozo (woven cloth) massage and rocking for the hips and the whole body (optional) and body wrapping, where you are fully wrapped in 7-8 rebozos (head, shoulders, abdomen, hips, thighs, knees, lower legs and feet) and allowed to rest in this nurturing cocoon, while the space is held for you.

Closing Ceremony (allow 2-3 hours) - includes sifting and rocking of the hips, abdominal and hip massage with aromatherapy oils, and full closing of the bones

Deeper Session (allow 3-4 hours) - this includes Rebozo releasing work on the full body (arms, legs, torso), in addition to the sifting and rocking of the hips, abdominal & hip massage with aromatherapy oils, and optional upper body massage, and full closing of the bones.

Complete Session (allow 4 hours minimum) - this includes Rebozo releasing work on the full body (arms, legs, torso, and head), plus swinging techniques on the limbs, in addition to the sifting and rocking of the hips, abdominal & hip massage with aromatherapy oils, and optional upper body massage, and full closing of the bones.

Rebozo only massage and wrapping - includes sifting and rocking of the hips followed by releasing work and swinging techniques on your entire body, followed by body wrapping.
